When designing for a website, you should keep in mind that typography is more than just picking a font, the size of the font, and whether it is bold or italic.  There is much more involved in improving the readability of your website.  There are things that you can do to improve how a visitor can read the content on your website.  You must focus on aspects of typography such as measure, leading, vertical rhythm, scale, and the clean look of the paragraphs.  Once you focus on these issues, your website will have a much more dynamic flow for your readers.  It also will make your website look cleaner.
